Stop Kiss
Date
February 27th to March 3rd, 2024
Role
Assistant Scenic Designer
Location
CSU Chico
Performed by Chico State in late February of 2024, Stop Kiss was a comedy-drama play combining many themes of identity and love with the impact of violence. As the Assistant Scenic Designer, I helped design, build, and manage the set through interpretations and understandings of the production itself. Set in late 1990s Manhattan, featuring the cluttered living room of Callie surrounded by run-down, dirty, and broken brick walls that tower over the set itself. To manage the fast-paced, dream-like scene transitions, we settled on a simplistic yet powerful adaptation, where many furniture and prop pieces are used multiple times. For my first CSU Theatre production as a set designer, it was both an immense learning opportunity and a test of creativity.
